Very interesting letter from the office of the Reichsfuhrer SSHeinrich Himmler to SS-Gruppenfuhrer von Herff about the demotion ofSS-Gruppenfuhrer Arthur Nebe who was involved with the July plot to killHitler. Nebe was to lead a team of 12 policemen who were going to killHimmler.The letter reads:Copy!The Reichsfuhrer-SSBerlin SW 11, the 30th November 1944To the head of the SS-Personalhautamt SS-Obergruppenfuhrer von Herff, Berlin-Charlottenburg.Wilmersdorfer Strasse. 98/99.I propose : that SS-Gruppenfuhrer Nebe hereby becomes1) demoted to SS man and2) expelled from the SchutzstaffelReason:As found records and state police investigations show, for years, Nebe hasmaintained close ties with people who were significantly involved in the20.7 coup.He supported the coup circles through treason. Nebe has therefore shamefullybroken his oath as an SS man, which obliges him to be particularly loyal tothe Fuhrer.The Reichsfuhrer SSsigned H.
