Postcard Sent in 1927 by a Polish Jew to a Jew in New York – Written in Yiddish.Postcard send to Rabbi Yehudah (Jehudah) .Braver was born 21 Jan. 1891 in Ligmiyan, Lithuania. He was ordained in Lithuania in 1913 (around age 22), and became chief Orthodox rabbi of Kansas City, and a Talmud scholar.Rabbi Braver married his first cousin Rivka Golda "Rebecca" Itzikovitz 17 Aug 1913 in Etkunen, Germany, and sailed to NY soon after. He served in Akron, Ohio, 1913-23.Rabbi Braver had a son Chaim/Hyman Avigdor, who was killed serving in WWII in 1943; a son Binyamin Meyer "Ben"; a son Refoel "Ralph."In Kansas City, Rabbi Braver and Rebecca had Eliezer Simcha (Louis Simon); twins Miriam and Soshona; and Yosef Leib (Joseph Levi).All items for this auction will be shipping from Europe.
