Description
"BOOK OF GLORY OF POLISH INFANTRY" A BEAUTIFUL REPRINT OF THE PRE-WAR EDITION. The original edition, 652 pages long, was published in the years 1937–1939 thanks to the efforts of the Infantry Department of the Ministry of Military Affairs of the Second Polish Republic. The editorial committee was headed by General Bronisław Prugar-Ketling, and the authors of the texts were experienced officers of the Polish Army and military historians. The book contains a historical outline of Polish infantry from the Middle Ages to the 18th century. It presents the organization and battles of infantrymen during national uprisings, in the Polish Legions, units created in Russia in 1914–1919 and the Polish Army in France. Much space was devoted to the participation of the infantry in the battles for independence and Polish borders in 1918-1939, as well as to its organization, tactics and training in the Second Polish Republic. There are also "glory records" of individual infantry regiments and a list of officers and soldiers of infantry units awarded with the war order of Virtuti Militari. The book is decorated with numerous illustrations (including 20 in color), including reproductions of works by famous before the war battle painters: Wojciech Kossak, Michał Bylina, Bronisław Gembarzewski, and Stanisław Haykowski. The whole is complemented by decorative vignettes and initials and a hardcover with a plaque with the image of a soldier of the Second Polish Republic.This item will be shipped from our Europe office.
