The Inowrocław transit camp in Błonie was established on January 15, 1940. It was a branch of the Stutthof concentration camp. Its first commandant was SS-Sturmbannfuhrer Fredrich Hegenscheidt.The Gestapo facility in Inowrocław also had at its disposal a penal and isolation camp in Detailedlin near Mogilno, as well as numerous labor camps located in the Inowrocław poviat. The official name of the transit camp in Inowrocław was from April 1940: Staatspolizeistelle Hohensalza – UbergangslagerBronisław Ornatek, born in Kruszwica, was tortured in Hohensalz prison. Eventually, he was transferred to the Bergen Belsen concentration camp
